Reading Report, 5-15-23
Once I finish the book I'm reading (today or tomorrow), I'm going to intentionally focus on SF written/published this century, for the remainder of 2023.
This isn't a diatribe against older stories or their authors, but it's time to experience the imaginations and issues of people who are alive right now, rather than someone writing about the future half a century ago. For years I've tried to catch up on what's regarded as milestones in the genre, and though I've read quite a few, I'll never read them all. Nor, at this point, should I.
I want something new, and it's much easier to find it by looking forward, rather than backward.
THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone is next on my reading queue.
